Reckless Fools Play Summer Games

Summer days of reckless fools
Out of work ignoring rules
Hurting friends and wrecking lives
Phoney guns and too real knives
People’s homes and people’s hopes
No-one wins and no-one copes
Looters, wreckers, lives in flames
Reckless fools play summer games

Author notes

Riots in London, sparked by the shooting of a man police were trying to arrest for carrying a gun, which he may or may not have been doing.

But the riots aren’t anything to do with that, phone shops and high price boutiques don’t arrest alleged gunmen.
