True Love Remains

The pain dies down so memories can grow.
In honest introspections and revealings
We learn the truths that we could never know.
You need to touch but that is gone forever,
His fingers now are wrapped around your soul.
An untamed sport that you can never sever,
A voice inside that you cannot control.
You’ll talk to him and ask for his opinion,
He’ll counsel you, yet you may disagree.
The jaws of death cannot keep full dominion
While love survives to set the spirit free.
So wear your pain and cry your heartfelt tears
But know inside that no love disappears.
