A bad policy

For superstitious reasons never bought things in his name
But after many decades found this was a losing game.
His dog is now the chairman of a multinational bank.
His cat died but her kittens have his foolishness to thank;
A famous fashion boutique and a “gentleman’s retreat”,
The “Pussy Parlour Cat House”, dominates a Vegas street.
Now he’s rowing with his donkey, in the papers and the courts,
How could things have gone this wonky and his life so out of sorts.
Divorced he lost the penthouse and the cottage by the sea,
Now it seems his final shelter will be human-owner free,
For the judge has checked the papers and it’s very clear, alas;
The house is now a stable and belongs to his old ass!
