One thousand boats in London celebrating
Her sixty years of reigning in the rain
We’ll call the wintry wind invigorating
While party food is washing down the drain

All kinds of craft formed into a procession
There’s rowing boats and Dunkirk little ships
Two million cheers ignoring the recession
With patriotic dress and fish and chips

Despite the rain despite our situation
We’re certain we’ll enjoy the jubilee
A party mood has swept across the nation
I think it proves we love our monarchy

One character expressed our feelings thus
“Her Majesty is worth a bit of fuss”

Author notes
Long Live The Queen!
