A cheerful soul in spite of all
That life can throw to bring me down
I rarely let my humour fall
Or let you see me wear a frown
I always try to stay this way
A cheerful soul in spite of all
To brighten up the darkest day
With silly jokes however small
With friends in need I heed the call
To raise a smile on every face
A cheerful soul in spite of all
Is what you need around the place
Some days it takes the best of you
To stand up to the bitter gall
I’ll stand the worst that life can do
