A Foolish Man’s Thoughts

It’s time for bed but I’m awake
A foolish man does foolish things
Insomnia is hard to break
When language sings
I find that words fly round my mind
And will not settle down to rest
The inner me is often blind
To what is best
So I’ve sat up to scribble down
These words that will not go away
Perhaps this act will let me crown
This too long day
With that I bid you all adieu
And hope my thoughts can turn to dreams
Instead of verse an odd review
Of how life seems
