A lonely walk

Through dreamy paths and scented air
I walked as lovers often do
The midnight moon seemed not to care
That as I walked I dreamt of you

These were the dreams we used to share
When we were walking hand in hand,
The midnight moon seemed not to care
And I will never understand

If we are wise then we prepare
For when the happy times will change
The midnight moon seemed not to care
That I was left to rearrange

And though your face was everywhere
You were not walking by my side
The midnight moon seemed not to care
That I had lost the fire inside

A life of love became despair
The night you slipped away from me
The midnight moon seemed not to care
That now I lived a tragedy
