A lot of bloody fools

There are a lot of bloody fools
Who think that life’s a set of rules
And all you need to win is follow clues
But there are many more who know
That life has much more ebb and flow
And sometimes everybody has to lose.
Too many feel it’s cut and dried
And they should never be denied,
Too bad the world was never made that way.
It doesn’t matter who you are,
An am-dram hack or West End star,
There is a chance that you will win the day.
It’s not a predetermined game,
Not every round will end the same,
I’m bloody glad that there’s a lot of chance.
If all the best were bound to win
Then no-one else would enter in,
It’s much more fun when everyone can dance.
So do you best and don’t complain
That so-and-so is such a pain,
There’s something there for everyone who tries
And all that matters in the end,
Is, was it fun for you, my friend?
If you join in you’re winners in my eyes.
