A love of letters

Cicadas sing a song of love from you
Ten thousand times an hour I sigh your name
There isn’t anything that I can do
Sweet Cupid and his darts must take the blame
I hear your name in music of the night
And see your face reflected in the skies
The thought of when we’ll meet is all my light
A love that’s framed in letters and replies
We haven’t met in person yet I know
That love has bridged the gap of miles and years
My feelings for you only seem to grow
Each time I read your words and taste your tears
A song of passion fills my heart each day
But it is true that love will find a way
Author notes
OK I admit it first two lines are a blatant attempt to bribe the judge I’ve
looked at your name so often and thought there are two elements there that
would fit a sonnet so well!
