He never knew that he could win her heart
For she was young and had so much to give
But he had loved this woman from the start
And for her sake remembered how to live
She was not in search of love from him
A man who’d known a love ere she was born
She knew that she was beautiful and slim
And he was middle aged and slightly worn
How could they know that they were meant to be
They met by chance and now will never part
For neither one could set the other free
Each one has won the prize of faithful heart
Each lover puts their perfect love on show
Both struck by arrows fired from Cupid’s bow
