I wish that you could write a million words,
So I could read your mind for all of time.
Those beasts of burden every poet herds
And turns from commonplace to the sublime.

I’d lose myself inside that unseen world,
That’s built from lines you turned to something more.
The secret place where part of you is curled
Inside some piece of stunning metaphor.

What other gift could any man desire
Than just the touch of love your writing brings.
A dream that I could maybe be the sire
Of poetry set forth on angel’s wings.

You turn my life from drudgery to dreams,
Please find your muse and pen ten thousand reams.
