On the edge of “I remember”
Just outside of “want to be”
In my history’s December
You will always be with me
Just before the final curtain
And before they douse the lights
There’s a dream of which I’m certain
I shall see the greatest sights
When I’ve settled down to dreaming
And there’s nothing else to do
I resort to idle scheming
How I’ll find myself with you
I have held one promise tightly
Since Neil Armstrong took his place
Pretty Moon who rises nightly
I shall stand upon your face

little awkward
