A silly sort of sonnet stuffed with sounds

A mellow, yellow, fellow on a cello
Played sounds to send a six-month-old to sleep
But then a silly strumpet on a trumpet
Went overboard and made the mother weep.

The drummer drummed the message “that’s a bummer”,
The sitarist sat down and sang a song,
Which soothed the screaming toddler into slumber,
So all the rest could move their lives along.

Cacophonies can cause the worst of ructions,
Not every tune soothes every savage beast,
Beware before you share your muse’s music
It may not be each eaters finest feast.

I know because I used to play my ‘bone
Until I found that’s why I lived alone!

Author notes
Some silly lines kept running round my head
A ‘bone is a trombone, and no playing it never caused me to live alone
