Not every day can be a Summer’s day,
Nor every heart see sadness drain away,
But every day you tackle with a will
May be the day that gives your life a thrill.

You cannot furnish every child a meal,
And universal happiness ain’t real,
But you can see those near you aren’t in need
By simply saying no to common greed.

So wake up every morning with a smile
And do your best to make each hour worthwhile.
If we all find a little we can give
The World will be a better place to live.

Author notes
Enter a poem of 12 lines in 3 quatrains, each quatrain with a rhyme scheme
of aabb.
Poems may be personal testimonials to Charles.
Poems may simply take up Charles’s themes of making the best of life or of
being as fine a human being as possible.
Content must be appropriate for readers of any age.
Partisan political expression and blatant or oblique references to politics
are NOT welcome.

I think that covers making the best of life and the best of whoever you are.
