A soppy sonnet

A soppy sonnet

When I first dreamed I’d take you by the hand
And show you all the life that I had planned
I longed to gaze forever in your eyes
To drown myself inside your deepest sighs

I’d keep you wrapped within a warm embrace
And rain soft kisses down upon your face
Hold each other close with our arms
When first we met I fell within you charms

That now you’ve granted me a perfect life
With you beside me as my friend and wife
My lover and the keeper of my heart
From whom I know I never shall depart

The life we live will always be as two
There’s nothing more we need than me and you

Author notes
A friend asked if you can have a sonnet rhymed aabb ccdd eeff gg. Apparently
you can, if it is soppy enough!
