A Thanksgiving guest of honour

A tribute, I was told, to make her smile
A thanksgiving for Tory’s little ways
She’s had a rotten time for quite a while
And now she needs to have the best of days
She loves her kids and others at the school
And they love her and wanted her to know
This time of year a party is the rule
The perfect time to let your friendship show
She’s cooked for them and always been at hand
When they had problems others couldn’t face
A friendly face and time to understand
Too often she had stood there in their place
So Tory there’s one thing I have to say
There’s no-one who deserves a better day
