Alan Aardvardk ate an aimless apple
Betina Bear blew bubbles for a bet
Chris Chorister was singing in the chapel
And dodgy Dave did deals although in debt.

Evadne Eels eats eggs each early Easter
Frank Foozie fought a floating football shirt
Grant Gorringe gave those grinning girls at least a
Half a hundred hints that he would like to flirt

I itch inside the alphabet is irksome
Just like a jumping Jack on roller skates
Kit Kendrick tried but couldn’t ever work some
Lost loving into washing up the plates

My muse is mad that I won’t ever let her
Nudge naughty Nelly’s nibbles off the shelf
Oh what revenge, but wait I’m gonna get her
Pushing Polly’s purple pixies off myself

Quite what this rhyme is for I’ve quite forgotten
Remarkable the way a mind can stray
So what if the whole thing is misbegotten
There’s not a lot of work to do today

Umbrellas urge us all to walk in winter
Vexatiously they invert in the breeze
Why worry if your dreams begin to splinter
X-raying xenophobes is such a tease

You can’t believe I’d post this load of rot
Zigzagging through the mess of all I’ve got

Author notes
Everyone should write an alphabet from time to time, I don’t know why, but they
should.
