The sun comes out and Spring is in a rush
The cherry blossom’s out in every street
I walked to work and listened to a thrush
Who sang to tell his lady she was sweet
There’s daffodils and tulips everywhere
Magnolia is ready for the show
A fresh and eager scent is in the air
I wonder if the forecast threatens snow
But on the news the future’s looking bleak
Election day is just a month away
The doorsteps jammed with idiots who speak
About their pointless plans to save the day
When politics and nature are the choice
I wish that trees not people had the voice!
