An anniversary

A year ago the world was built anew
Each sunbeam turned to drops of liquid gold
The garden flowers were given a richer hue
And all my dreams were rescued from the cold
A year ago I saw another sea
Where I was not adrift without a sail
The thoughts I locked away were all set free
It seemed that I had touched a holy grail
It can’t be just a year, you’ve always been
The side of me that I was looking for
You found a me that I had never seen
A year ago I saw there was a door
I’m not the man you met a year ago
In just a year you’ve shown me how to grow
