As it seems

While the Moon is still half risen and the Sun is new to bed
While the sky is not quite inky and the day is not quite dead,
I am walking in the garden unaware of other dreams
And my life is not as empty as it seems.
Now the birds had started roosting and the fox begins his prowl
The allotments fallen silent underneath a searching owl,
As the stars begin appearing I am lost inside my dreams
And my life is not as empty as it seems.
There is blossom on the cherry and the rowan’s leaves in bud
There is frog spawn in the bird-pond and some frogs are in the mud.
I am walking under arches that are snatched from rural dreams
And my life is not as empty as it seems.
There is poetry condensing from the music of the Spring,
There are words that ask for freedom like a songbird on the wing,
In my heart I know you’re near me and I’ll kiss you in my dreams.
No, my life is not as empty as it seems.
No,
my life is not as empty
as it seems.
