I used to fall asleep while learning French!
The teacher’s voice was droning on and on.
Pretending rapt attention on the bench
My conscious mind had quickly upped and gone.
I’m pretty sure the teacher had been dressed,
When I arrived and shuffled through the door.
But half asleep I’m rather more impressed
That all her clothes have fallen to the floor.
I felt her lips approach and join with mine,
This form of French was rather more for me.
I whispered (not in French) “You taste divine”
Just like the French I’m all for liberty!
A piece of chalk came whizzing through the air,
In French she shouted, “WAKE UP OVER THERE!!!”
English
