No plaything of a man am I
Not born to follow orders to my doom
I shall not lie here hesitant and shy
Within my room
No father shall decide my wedding plans
No man decree the path my love shall tread
Not put my needs at less than any man’s
I’ll live instead
Intrigues and plots may trap men’s weaker wills
But I shall look to tread a clearer path
No blood of battles nor from other kills
Shall fill my bath
The men I love may turn from simple thought
And lose their minds to troubles they must face
But I shall keep on going as I ought
And keep my place
When asked the question “should I choose to be?”
As men may often ask that of their lives
This answer I shall always offer free
