Bloody March

In January and February the snow lies on the ground,
Your icy toes each morning are in pain,
While hoar frosts in the moonlight spread their beauty all around,
But every day in March it seems to rain.
In April spring is blooming, cherry blossom everywhere,
And May let’s Mother Nature take the strain.
Then June means watching cricket – scents of roses in the air,
But every day in March it seems to rain.
July arrives in splendour, August follows up with more,
September sees the gold of bursting grain,
October ends the harvests – crunching leaves on forest floor,
But every day in March it seems to rain
November can be moody and December’s often worse,
But Christmas seems to promise us a gain.
There isn’t any doubting just one Month must bear a curse
Since every day in March it seems to rain.
