Bonfire Night

They say today’s a day we should remember
When men would kill to kill the rule of law
We celebrate in fireworks each November
That there are things it’s not worth killing for

These terrorists had piled their stocks of powder
Beneath the seat of English government
They wanted to make sure their voice was louder
That all would hear the message that they sent

The modern World is filled with senseless slaughter
There’s nothing new in ways of life and death
The Taleban are just the latest daughter
Of Guy Fawkes plot to steal King James’s breath

So when you watch those rockets in delight
Remember there is more to bonfire night
