Broken hearts

A friend of mine has got a broken heart
And nothing I can do will end the pain
To sit and watch her is my only part
No-one else can help her take the strain
A broken heart is such a cross to bear
It colours all of life the deepest blue
Maybe you have a friend who wants to share
But the broken heart belongs to only you
So all I’ll do is smile and and be a friend
And hope that she will find a love once more
With all the wishes we her friends can send
Her heart must mend and then begin to soar
A love is all that most of us would seek
So why does love make all of us feel weak?
