Carry On Regardless!

When all the stars have faded from my sight
And I can say the Moon won’t rise again.
When I can see no prospect of delight,
And metered words no longer fill my pen.
When Summer’s gone and cricket put away
To some strange Spring beyond infinity,
Then I shall deem the time has come to say
“Goodnight sweet World this is the last of me.”
Until such time, unless you turn aside
I can’t conceive of wishing I could die
For life alone brings pleasure undenied
When beauty such as yours assaults my eye
Though many days are miserable and grey
Each morning I lay out the field of play!
