Changeable Weather

A summer storm is beautiful to see,
The blinding flash that rips the sky apart.
Those huge warm drops that cause us all to flee
And what a scent arrives to greet the start.
But early spring’s a very different case,
The storm today was miserable and cold.
Disgruntled workers charging round the place,
As cheap umbrellas did their best to fold.
Within the crowds I trudged the road alone
The stinging water running in my eyes.
A splashing car soon soaked me to the bone
“The drowning rat” is not a great disguise.
And now I sit beneath a silver Moon
Where were these perfect skies this afternoon?
