Changeable Weather

Changeable Weather

On nights like this when stars refuse to shine
And moonlight only lightens clouds of grey,
I look at you and know the weather’s fine;
Your soft green eyes turn darkness into day.

When drizzle falls and hats are pulled down tight,
When chilly winds find ways to freeze the soul,
My head’s held high and everything seems right,
You turn a trudge into a summer stroll.

I didn’t always see the sunny side,
Before we met I tried to dodge the rain.
Now storms may blow but I don’t need to hide;
One thought of you and blues wash down the drain.

The monsoon’s flood turned into morning dew
The moment that I fell in love with you.
