Clotted cream

With clotted cream on home made scones, and tea
And flowers blooming in a border bed.
A blackbird follows where a worm has lead
And there’s a poet here to visit me.

With simile and metaphor to see
And raspberry jam and eyes that know my mind.
The waitress fusses almost endlessly
Poetic thoughts are lovingly refined

Bone china cups and silver newly shined
A view across the park that must inspire
Two poets thoughts will turn to fond desire
No better afternoon has been designed

With tea below and sunshine up above
I have to write of clotted cream, and love

Author notes
I love clotted cream
