We almost thought that rain had gone away
But now we find that it’s been reinvented
The dreary wet and cold is here to say
Since I got home it’s driven me demented

In Egypt it is always hot and dry
A life like that could soon be dull and boring
But for a week it must be worth a try
And truth to tell I’d do a little moring

The drip and drop and pitter pat goes on
No silent spells no peaceful intermission
From desert scenes where day-long suns were shone
To London where the rain seeks no permission

But wet or dry here’s where I want to be
If I could only have you next to me

Author notes
Back in soggy wet London after 5 days in Cairo, it’s bleedin’ great

Cricket on the telly (till rain stopped play) and tea when I want it.
But really, non-stop rain? WHY???
