Darkest nights

Darkest nights

The daytime moon glowed large and white
Her face toward the sun
In promise of a dark cold night
When all the work is done
The stars alone shall light the way
When Jack Frost paints the land
In light and warm we’ll choose to say
A glass of wine in hand
When morning calls we’ll still be there
While silver plates the lawn
Two lovers hand in hand to share
The magic kiss of dawn
And then I’ll spend my life with you
There’s nothing I would rather do
