Deep in the heart of Texas

Deep in the heart of Texas there’s a fighter in a bed
And she is filled with passion, and with love that must be fed
Right now she’s busy fighting with a foe she cannot see
And all the while she’s fighting she has filled her heart with me
The war that she is waging is a war that must be won
So she can see a life ahead that’s filled with so much fun
So far it’s not been rosy but she’s tackled it with skill
And the fighter deep in Texas knows that she is fighting still
Deep in the heart of Texas there’s a lover in a bed
And if I know that lover there’s an image in her head
It isn’t just infection sends a temperature that high
If they looked inside her dreams I know they’d know the reasons why
Though Tory may be fighting for her life in many ways
She has to find sweet poetry to fill up all the days
And when she’s done with poetry it’s love that fills her head
Deep in the heart of Texas there’s a lover in a bed…
