Delusions of Power

Now half a nation’s living on delusion –
And knowing magic wishes rule the day.
They don’t want facts they only trust illusion;
Their orange idol’s feet are made of clay.
The arbiters are clearly dupes and traitors,
Republicans in name but not in deed.
The nation needs less votes and more dictators,
Not policies just bald unfettered greed.
It’s strange they only cheat in one election,
The senate votes are fair as fair can be.
The leader says “no need for close inspection
The Supreme Court must give those votes to me!”
Let’s hope that there’s a limit to corruption –
The last four years a dismal interruption.
