Some people seem annoyed at “Black Lives Matter”
Which doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
They huff and puff to justify their chatter
But truth to tell they just don’t want to see.
Of course it’s also true that “All lives matter”
But no-one tries to kill me ’cause I’m white.
The time has come for all of us to shatter
The false illusion everything’s all right.
Since my life matters, I’ll shout “Black Lives Matter”,
No racist thugs should wear a uniform,
For centuries they’ve looked for men to batter,
Who they decide are different to their norm.
Stand up to hate! Don’t join the bullies’ team,
When Black Lives Matter – we will live “The Dream”.
