Dreams of love

A man may often dream of love at night,
But meeting dreams when waking is more rare.
Though in my dreams you’ve always been my light
I could not know in life we’d form a pair
The face I’ve seen at least one thousand times
Is now the face that offers lips to me
One thousand dreams and half a thousand rhymes
Are now condensed to one reality
I’ll never know what force has made it so
What fates of man have managed to contrive
To grant for me a heaven down below
To see I am the luckiest alive
A love that’s born in dreams must surely be
The love to last for all eternity
