Dreams of Summer Days

My memories of summer’s silent days
Sustain me through the worst of winter’s cold;
My thoughts of you are seen through golden haze,
Not hidden by the frost’s unkindly hold.
I’d rather you were walking on a beach
Than huddled like a yeti in the snow,
I choose to dream about a blushing peach
Not nose and ears blushed red by winter’s glow.
And it is now, when life is monochrome,
Your happy hues show brightest in my mind.
When frost and ice besiege me in my home
I cannot leave your sunny face behind.
The seasons change on nature’s harsh decree
But you are always summertime to me
