Duality

Duality

A photon never knows how to behave,
It’s in a state of permanent confusion.
It has to be both particle and wave,
Reality is just a strange illusion.

Duality affects electrons too —
And bosons, quarks and all the tiny rest.
The physicists say it applies to you
But “lump of stuff” will always fit us best.

Our world is not the way that it appears,
A strange result of probability.
The beauty that reduces us to tears
Is built of parts that we can never see.

Uncertainty and chaos are in charge
When tiny things combine to make the large.
