Each Word is a Kiss

A tumble of words fill my mind with suggestions,
Implosions of concepts I strive to express.
Can spaces between ever answer the questions
When deep in your dreams there’s a mind to undress?
A river of writing is flowing between us
Inventing excuses for being apart;
On dark winter nights when the planets have seen us
I’ve asked them to carry me straight to your heart.
Don’t ever abandon your hopes for the future,
We’re all of us born on the wings of our past.
Our souls are attached by a Moon-silver suture
A literate love song that’s fated to last.
And here on the page where our verses combine
Each word is a kiss for my sweet Valentine.
