Early Spring Sunshine

The cherry trees are painted white as snow
And bumblebees are busy overhead
With daffodils and crocuses on show
Nobody grieves the winter drear is dead

The sparrows making nestboxes their home
Are flying freight to build a better nest
The garage has become become a superdome
Where Robins strut to show they are the best

And even people walking in the street
Seem more prepared to spread a friendly smile
The fruits of early spring are always sweet
Although they’ll only last a little while

I’m looking out the window drinking tea
As blackbirds bill and coo high in the tree
