Everyday

When I was very young I always knew
Exactly how the world should be arranged
But now I find that everything has changed
And every man has something he could do
To say it’s right to steal would seem deranged
But is it wrong to steal to stay alive
How many absolutes must be exchanged
If we accept it’s right we should survive
In other ways all absolutes must fail
With human life they simply cannot jive
Although for right and wrong we all should strive
To reach the limits we are much too frail
There is no black or white in everyday
The world is built from lovely shades of grey
