Face facts

Some people always want to take the blame
While others can’t admit a single fault
This life is not a complicated game
So why do simple truths face such assault
The tempted are those guilty of the crime
If old enough to know what’s right and wrong
While tempters give the weak a tricky time
It’s part of growing up to prove you’re strong
So don’t tell me that misery’s deserved
Because a child was toppled from the path
If sanity and truth had been preserved
There would not be the dreadful aftermath
Don’t tell yourself a lie to ease the blow
A child needs love and nurturing to grow
Author notes
A nine year old is not responsible for what an adult does, and trying to ruin a
life based on the opposite belief is hardly a “christian” act.
