Feeling Peckish

A hot cup of tea and a nice ginger biscuit
A clotted cream scone topped with jam
Would cake be too much? No I think I should risk it
And all the ice-cream I can cram
It’s not that I’m greedy, just too starved to speak
I’ve not felt like eating for almost a week!
I’m thinking of snacking on apples and custard
Or maybe meringues that explode
A Welsh Highland steak, going easy on mustard
And toffees and mints for the road
I shan’t be this foolish but damn what a dream!
A week of starvation then lashings of cream!
