[First Dance by Rob Black: A couple dance in the Moonlight, inspired by the
marriage of friends]

He only asked for help to tie his tie
But there were hints of magic in the air
Soft candlelight was dancing in her eye
And gentle music tumbled everywhere

Their feet performed unbidden on the floor
He didn’t ask, she floated to his arms
They waltz away to music they adore
Performed by dreams that play each others’ charms

She doesn’t get the chance to fill her card
He doesn’t meet another pretty girl
A moment’s madness saw her drop her guard
That moment puts forever in a whirl

The Summer ball, the first and only dance
None but a fool would throw away the chance
