Five for Physicists

The Neutron
An old physics teacher remarks —
The neutron, a mix of three quarks,
(An up and two downs,
Three colours, no browns)
Decays by emission of sparks.
Neutrinos
Neutrinos are almost not there,
They’re far less substantial than air,
A physicist reckoned
That trillions each second
Went through him and he didn’t care.
The Proton
The proton’s extremely not large
And carries a positive charge
A hydrogen ion
‘s a proton that’s tryin’
To do its existing at large.
The Photon
You can’t see a photon of light
Although they are needed for sight
Electromagnetic
And very frenetic
The stuff of existence in flight.
Unanswered Question
A staple of physicist’s chatter
That makes other topics seem flatter,
The unanswered question
Which needs more digestion
Is “does all that dark matter matter?”
Author notes
In Feb 2011 these were posted as separate Limericks, now I want them on one
