For you

I’d catch a star and wrap it up in gold
No lesser jewel the equal of your eyes
A stone like that is hardly ever sold
For it would be an angel in disguise
If diamonds could freeze a glimpse of you
Then other girls would throw them far away
You have a gift that’s given to so few
To lift the hearts of all you meet each day
But I must find a stone to win your heart
In platinum I’ll set a solitaire
The fire within its facets just a start
To complementing one beyond compare
When beauty has been frozen into stone
It cannot touch the glory you have shown
