Will you still be forever in my heart
When summer sun has chased the cold away
And will you swear that we can never part
When other lovers tempt you every day
Will you still fill my dreaming every night
When life decrees that we can rarely meet
Your smile that always fills me with delight
Will shine to give another man a treat
It’s hard to know the way the future feels
And hard to hold eternity inside
And yet I know the thought of it appeals
I’ll always keep the welcome open wide
Forever may be long enough to show
