I taste the air when wind is from the North
And know that winter’s snows are never far
With danger in her teeth she’ll sally forth
The slashing blade that always leaves a scar
Or from the East she changes through the year
In Summer dry and filled with welcome sun
In Winter bitter chilled and dressed with fear
That frozen nights and days have just begun
The Southerly is warm and gently blown
To brighten blooms and ripen farmer’s crops
You’d think that I could love this breeze alone
But there’s another wind that is the tops
From South of West the wind has come from you
And’s touched with news of every thing you do
