Fussy Eaters

Fussy Eaters

Are hedgehogs ever fussy over slugs,
And do they favour certain sorts of worms?
Do some of them prefer unusual bugs,
Or will they just eat anything that squirms?

Do cats like rats that feed on Stilton cheese,
Or wait to taste a golden corn-fed bird?
I doubt they’d sneer and miaow “Organic Please”,
My guess is that they’d find such fuss absurd.

But some men gripe about the breed of cow,
That gave the milk they put into their tea,
Or take the time to ask the waiter how
The restaurant has aged their piece of Brie.

You’ve read this far but things are as you fear
This sonnet’s from a simply DREADFUL year!
