Garden flowers

Azaleas bloomed by the path to her door
Carnations were scattered and poppies popped out
Camomile carpets the whole garden floor
Her marigold borders were bright as a shout
The roses that rambled were redder than blood
The climbers were whiter than snow
The bluebells were blooming a rich mauve-ish flood
She’d make a stone ornament grow
We sat on the swing that was hung from the tree
While sparrows played catch through the beds
I gazed in her eyes as she gazed back at me
And thought what we’d grow in our heads
The kisses took root and the clothing unfurled
Her garden was suddenly all of my world
