At fifty feet above the street
The Gargoyles watch the world go by
Mysterious and mischievous
They love their city in the sky

A car alarm may do no harm
But watching people run is fun
When no-one’s there the Gargoyles dare
To have a lot of fun with one

Their ugly spouts spit water out
So they can drench the passers by
Their fiendish game is that they aim
To catch unwaries in the eye

They meet each night in pale starlight
Deciding how to overthrow
The government that should be sent
To watered graves so far below

The unseen eyes desire one prize
An end to modern guttering
The heartless mess of gargoyleless
Skyscrapers leaves them spluttering

Next time your feet are on the street
Look up to see your enemy
The gargoyles wait to seal your fate
They’ll get us soon you wait and see!
